New factsheet on Parkinson’s disease includes the leading data on prevalence and incidence, the human burden, and the value of innovation. Additionally, data from a new study gives the most comprehensive assessment of the economic burden of Parkinson’s disease to date, nearly doubling previous estimates, and for the first time, includes the various ways Parkinson’s affects a person’s finances and their ability to participate in the labor market. The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research commissioned that economic study from The Lewin Group.
