The prevalence of transient ischemic attack (a mini-stroke that lasts less than 24 hours) in men is estimated at 2.4% for those ages 65-69, and 3.6% for those ages 75-79. For women, prevalence is estimated at 1.6% for those ages 65-69, and 4.1% for those ages 75-79.
