Difference in inpatient care costs between hip-fracture repair patients

The difference in inpatient care costs between patients who developed venous thromboembolism after
orthopedic surgery and those who didn’t, was highest among those who underwent hip-fracture repair. Costs
were $10,000 to $13,000 higher.
